Govt is holding these people even violating its own PTA act which requires that no person can be held for more than 3 months under a detention order. In this case we have not heard of any order. The Judiciary is silent on these issues. Although this has been challenged in court the judge has given a long date, which is again against what is stated in PTA.

'Every court shall give priority to the trial of any person charged with, or indicted for, any offence under this Act and to the hearing of any appeal from the conviction of any such offence and sentence imposed on such conviction.'

Hence detention of 250,000 people illegally continues. If the Government cant abide by its own laws it should step down. So much so for Justice and Human Rights in Sri Lanka.

I am a tamil. When we talk about the current situation of refugees, i am thinkin now aboutb muslims from North who were forced out from their homes. Only now I could imagin their hardships. There are there to be resettled for last 20 years. When it will happen?

UN and other countries are spending the money for the IDPs. Royal family is putting all the money in the pockets and bank accounts and saying that they are doing everything for the IDPs with their limited resources!!! The question is who destroyed all the infrastructures? Destroying lives and livelhood and infrastructure started 60 years ago!!! Why did the BROS & Co. installed bank machines even before providing drinking water to the IDPs? The answer is obvious!!! Now the IDPs are the money spinners for the greedy dynasty!!!
