Venerable Batharamulle Seelaratana Thera, contesting the presidential elections as Janasetha Peramuna candidate has announced his withdrawal.
The priest has stated that he is withdrawing in favour of President Mahinda Rajapakse & has called upon his supporters to vote for Mahinda.
The priest arrived at this decision after a long chat with the president at Temple Trees. The same priest had campaigned for Mahinda in 2005 [ http://www.twitter.com/dbsjeyaraj ]
